Introduction
The Calgary Real Estate Board (CREB®) is ranked as one of the largest real estate boards in Canada. It is a professional body of over 5,400 licensed brokers and registered associates, representing 262 member offices. One of the main functions of CREB® is the operation of the Multiple Listing Service (MLS®) System. Through the MLS® System, members and in turn their clients have immediate access to the latest information on properties listed for sale.
In excess of 30,000 residential properties per year, representing over 90% of the market, are listed on the MLS® System. The Board's Multiple Listing Service (or MLS®) System is a state-of-the-art computerized technology that allows board members to exchange information about properties for sale in Calgary and the surrounding areas. Through the MLS® System, members can provide the buying and selling public with the broadest possible market exposure and the most complete and up-to-date market information.
The Board also provides information to meet the needs of the home buying and selling public. Since 1983 the Calgary Real Estate News has served as one of the most effective tools for marketing homes and properties in and around Calgary and is available free every Friday.
And in 2005, we introduced our glossy magazine, Home to Home, which is published once every four weeks. Home to Home provides our readers with a comprehensive overview of the real estate market as well as in-depth and informative articles. Home to Home and CREN® are the only two publications published by the 5,400 REALTORS® of the Calgary Real Estate Board.
CREB® is a not-for-profit, voluntary membership organization that provides a full range of services to its members.
